A Vancouver native, D'Arcy Myronuk began studying piano at the age of 5. He initially focused on classical repertoire, however by his early teens he was concurrently studying jazz with local pianists Bob Murphy, Sharon Minemoto and Brad Turner.During high school, he attended summer sessions at the Bud Shank Jazz Workshop and Berklee College of Music, working with jazz luminaries Gary Smulyan and George Cables. In 2003, D'Arcy moved to Toronto to continue his studies at U of T with Juno award-winning pianist David Braid, as well as local mainstays Gary Williamson and Dave Restivo. In the summer of 2006, he participated in the Banff Centre For The Arts International Jazz Workshop, led by renown composer/instrumentalist Dave Douglas.
D'Arcy is an active freelance pianist, performing in a diverse array of groups. He has performed with numerous jazz acts including The Toronto Art Orchestra, The Paul Read Jazz Orchestra, The Toronto Jazz Orchestra and The Tiny Alligator Large Ensemble. He regularly subs for Robi Botos in the R&B/jazz outfit The N'Awlins All-Star Band. D'Arcy enjoys teaching and encourages students to take an individualistic approach to the piano.
