Christel Wu, Piano (Bach. of Music in Performance, U of T)

Christel Wu began playing the piano at the age of five and cello at the age of eleven in British Columbia.  She has been actively involved in music ever since she was young, learning various different instruments, and playing solo and chamber music. 

At the age of eight, she studied piano with Dr. Eugene Skovorodnikov and then with Edward Parker at the age of fifteen.  She has won numerous scholarships and awards in local festivals including the Kiwanis Music Festival, the Burnaby Clef Society, and the Teachers’ Association of Music in Vancouver, B.C.  She completed her ARCT with honors and then moved to Toronto to study Piano Performance at the University of Toronto with Marietta Orlov. 

Christel Wu has also participated in masterclasses with internationally well-known artists such as Dr. Robin Wood, Jane Coop, and William Aide.  She is currently finished her Bachelor of Music at U of T and has been very involved in teaching since the age of sixteen.
