Chelsea Laird, Piano (U of T, Bac of Music Education)

Chelsea began learning piano at the age of four while taking lessons with her grandmother. After two years of these lessons she began regular lessons with Lusiana Lukman, founder and director of Classical Music.

Conservatory, whom she has studied with privately ever since. She has participated in numerous local music competitions such as the Kiwanis and Peel Music festivals and has received many awards and bursaries. Just prior to entering Highschool, Chelsea was accepted for piano into the Regional Arts Program for the North Peel region at Mayfield Secondary School. It was there that she was introduced to jazz playing, piano ensembles and group accompaniment under Susan Hood.

Chelsea is currently a student at the faculty of Music in the University ofToronto where she studies under Lydia Wong. She views her experience as an instructor at the Classical Music Conservatory as invaluable experience towards her degree in Music Education and enjoys the chance to work with the students.

Chelsea is also now the registrar of CMC.
