Joanna Borromeo, Piano (Bach. of Music in Jazz piano, Humber)
Joanna Borromeo is a talented pianist whose musical history begins at the age of four. Spending the majority of her years studying classical music, Joanna has a wealth of knowledge to share with her students. Born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, Joanna is relatively new to the Toronto music scene.
Upon moving to Toronto in 2001, Joanna already had years of teaching and performing experience under her belt. Ready to discover new things in the world of music, Joanna began studying jazz at the internationally recognized Humber College. Four years have passed since moving to Toronto and Joanna has successfully completed her Bachelor's Degree in Music. She has also had the pleasure of studying with some of the country?s top jazz pianists, such as Don Thompson, Brian Dickinson, Dave Restivo, and Hilario Duran. Having left Humber with a number of awards and scholarships, as well as an expanding portfolio of compositions, she is ready to introduce herself and her music to Toronto.
Joanna's talent as a music teacher is not only apparent in the number of years spent teaching, but also in the successful learning of her students. Joanna takes pride in helping students discover the same joy that she finds in music. It is through careful guidance and genuine concern for her students that Joanna is able to develop a good rapport with them, while showing them the rewards of steady discipline and hard work.
