Andreea Coza, B.Mus. Violin Performance (McGill, Montreal)
Violin, Viola.
Despite having grown up in a family of non-musicians, Andreea Coza has been an active musician since early childhood. Her non-musician, but very musical parents have nurtured her love of playing the violin, singing and teaching from the very start.
A native of Romania, Andreea began playing the violin at the age of six, at the music school in her hometown Arad. At fourteen, she moved with her family to Toronto, where she continued her musical studies at Cardinal Carter Academy for the Arts, under the guidance of Jolanta Hickey.
In 2005, Andreea graduated from McGill University with a B-Mus. in Violin Performance, having studied with Prof. Tom Williams.
Aside from performing regularly with the National Academy Orchestra in Hamilton, Ontario, Andreea currently resides in Toronto. She enjoys teaching music at CCAA, conducting the Vox Dacis Romanian church choir, and offering private violin lessons to young violinists and violists in the making.
When she's not teaching or playing, Andreea can be found either reading, or in the kitchen, trying on new recipes.
