Andrea Yau

Andrea Yau, B. Mus (University of Toronto), ARCT Piano Performance Diploma and ARCT Piano Pedagogy Diploma (Royal Conservatory of Music)
An accomplished performer and teacher, Andrea is a Toronto based pianist who loves to share both the profound and fun experience of making music with her students.
Andrea holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Toronto, an ARCT Piano Performance Diploma, and an ARCT Piano Pedagogy Diploma from the Royal Conservatory of Music. Her teachers include Peter Ware, Lynn Harting-Ware, Kristian Alexander, Boyanna Toyich, Lydia Wong, Mia Bach, Midori Koga, Brian Katz, and Victoria Gimmelshtein.
As an active solo and collaborative pianist, Andrea has performed in various settings. A featured soloist of the Toyich International Projects Piano Performers Conference in Rome, Italy, Andrea performed at the Università Popolare di Roma and recorded with composer, Erica Yost, on her album, Roma. Andrea has also performed with the University of Toronto's Klezmer Ensemble as well as the University of Toronto's Afro-Cuban Latin Percussion Ensemble in Macmillan Theatre and Walter Hall.
As a teacher, Andrea enjoys engaging with children of all ages and backgrounds. In particular, she has taught children with cerebral palsy, autism, attention deficit disorders, and Asperger syndrome. Andrea's field of interest lies in early childhood education. Currently, she is pursuing a Bachelor of Education degree at the Ontario Institute of Studies in Education and aspires to travel the world.
