Birds, Bugs, Fairies and Wings: Music and Art Camp (6-8 yrs)
A magical fun-filled camp for 6-8 yr olds with music, art, movement and drama components with Cheng Feng Lin.
Mon. - Fri. (Mar. 12-16) from 9am-noon
$160/wk (half days), max. 8 children

Music Component:
Children will be singing, playing simple percussion instruments and playing musical circle games all related to our birds, bugs, fairies and wings theme. Listening to parts of Saint-Saëns’s ‘Carnival of the Animals’ and Rimsky-Korsakov’s ‘Flight of the Bumblebee’ will be just one part of a magical musical journey. Each day will also have a drumming circle time where the children can develop their sense of rhythm in a fun and encouraging environment.
Art Component:
Daily art time will consist of making a butterfly mobile, painting a bug box to use at home to inspect little creatures, creating fairy homes and much more!
Drama Component:
The children will be working on a short musical drama which they will perform for parents and caregivers on the last day of camp, with a celebration time afterwards.
Daily Schedule:
9:00-9:45am: magical musical journey
9:45-10:30am: creating art
10:30-10:45am: snack on counter in waiting area
10:45-11:15am: drumming circle with rhythm games
11:15-11:30am: storytime on blanket
11:30-12:00pm: work on musical drama to be performed on the last day
The Magic of Music (8-13 yrs)
An amazing opportunity for young musicians to discover the magic of music in a fun, informative class that enhances students’overall understanding of music and musical composition. Be inspired and be taught to improvise and create your own musical compositions. Learn basic tools and techniques of writing your own music in a fun and magical way! Some music knowledge is a bonus but not a must.
