Kevin Braun

Kevin Braun is a gifted guitarist and bassist working mostly in Jazz, Rock and Folk ensembles. Originally from Calgary, Kevin began at a young age studying piano and guitar. By the age of 15 he was playing bass in his guitar teacher's blues band. Through his teens, he continued studying and performing until moving to Toronto where he completed his bachelor of Music at Humber College.

At Humber, Kevin had the opportunity to study with some of Canada's finest musicians. Including, Ted Quinlan, Mike Downs, Neil Swainson and Kirk Macdonald. Since graduating, Kevin has been playing, composing and recording with in an eclectic range of projects. You can see him play regularly throughout Toronto with his band's ‘Speak Easy' and ‘The Storyville Project' or freelancing with a variety of groups.

Kevin has been teaching both guitar and bass for eight years, and has developed a teaching approach which combines music theory, history, technical studies and ear training. He focuses on a holistic and practical approach while keeping each lesson fun and engaging. Teaching plays an important part in Kevin's life, as he takes great pride in the development of each of his students.
